The new version of StateWatch offers a bag of improvements
and new functions to the user. The
vision for this release was to give the user a greater experience in managing
members, via easier use and communication with the application. To do this we have redesigned many of the
interfaces and have extended functionality in many areas, all while trying to
keep in mind a simple principle: Keep
it Simple.
We think the new StateWatch has achieved this offering many
of the improvement asked by you the user. This article will examine and discuss some of the enhanced
features and of course the new ones.
Club Members
StateWatch has re-engineered the interface for club members
and has packaged it up with new functionality, not only in Member Attributes
but also Member Tools and Member Reporting.
As we can see in the example below, the Club Member form has
been consolidated to on form only, but carries the extra feature of the Summary
page, which gives an overall report on the member. This summary makes it easier for the user to view information
that is mostly required.

Essential contact details and club information including
patrol hours etc are easily viewed and if changes are required administrators
can quickly tab to the relevant section via the tabs at the top of the form.
Administering members this way allows administrators to work
with more then one member at the same time, as StateWatch will allow multiple
members to be loaded.
The look Member form also allows the user to have access to
the Member Tools;
Archive Member Archives member to the Archive database
E-mail Member allows the user to e-mail member through
default mail client
Transfer Member Transfers the member to a secondary club
Member Change History provides an audit of all changes regarding
the member
Export Member Details - Exports the current members details
to file
Print Member Details - Prints the members details to screen
and then can be printed
Print Patrol Hour Certificate - Prints Member patrol hour
history
Set Member Photo Allows administrators to store a picture
of the member
Member Transfers
Administrators can now transfer members within their State
with minimal effort. Members can
transfer using the following methods;
Competitive Rights transfers member competitive rights to
a secondary club
Total Membership transfers the whole member to another
primary club
Dual Membership allows the member to be a member a two or
more clubs while retaining competition rights at their primary.
Custom Reports
StateWatch now has extended its custom reports module, to
allow for further reporting on secondary clubs, patrol hours and
accreditations. Along with this we have
also added the ability to load and save custom reports so that they dont have
to be created every time.
Mailing Groups
Mailing Groups have been enhanced to cater for e-mail
groups, as well as mixing postal groups with e-mail groups. With the addition of e-mail groups
administrators will save time and most importantly money in getting information
out to members.
Member Health Checks
This utility helps you ensure that your members are all spot
on in a number of areas. It ensures
everyone has a valid name for postal purposes.
Checks reference data against member and will report on any invalid
codes the member may be connected to such as invalid occupations, awards or
accreditations.
At the end of the check a report is displayed with which the
administrator can progressively fix the problem members.
Enhanced Import/Export
StateWatch now not only exports member awards, but also
exports reference data to CPL. This will aid in the control of Membership
Categories, Occupations, and Awards etc.
Member importing has be re-written and improved, so that any
members who cause and exception are retained in a list, and can have their data
altered prior to an import retry.
StateWatch Database Backup/Restore
StateWatch now allows full database backup and restore for
all three of its databases. This allows
security for small sites that dont have networked backups. It also allows users to take their databases
off site on laptops for events etc.

Web Technology
This version of StateWatch is paving the foundation for use
of StateWatch and Complete Patrol Logger over the web. Future versions of Complete Patrol Logger
will report changes to member details to their state centres over the Internet,
these changes will be automatically feed into the StateWatch database.
Competition Module
StateWatch provides a flexible competition module, which
allows administrators to build carnivals and then add members to events in both
teams and individual events. Future
versions will allow clubs to add their own members to carnivals, which States
have prepared and mail out.

There are many more features packed into this release, so
the only way to go is to download and install.
As per usual new users are welcome to install StateWatch for a free
evaluation period of 30 days after which you will be required to register with
